Fresno is in the center of California.  From our convenient location students can enjoy all the attractions of Los Angeles and San Francisco or the ocean towns along the Pacific coast. Fresno is also close to Sequoia Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks which are cherished gateway spots for horseback riding backpacking rafting hiking and mountain climbing. The people of Fresno take pride in their city's clean and friendly environment.  To residents and visitors Fresno feels like a big city with a small town heart.  Fresno offers a variety of restaurants shopping entertainment and recreation within walking distance from IEI and easily accessible by a transportation system. A major university California State University Fresno is located across the street from IEI.

IEI is located in a suburban environment located on Shaw Avenue Fresno's main east/west thoroughfare Our spacious classrooms are comfortable and equipped with books games and resources that students may use at their convenience. The IEI Sony digital audio lab offers students the latest technology equipped with SONY's digital audio technology equipment. I.E.I. also uses other audio/visual equipment such as video cameras recorders and monitors overhead projectors cassette recorders and movie projectors.
Our Multi-Media IBM-compatible Computer Lab is used by students for classroom exercises such as writing assignments research papers problem solving vocabulary building and development of computer skills. The computer lab consists of 15 Pentium-based machines.  All IEI students have access to the internet.  Students may use the lab for classroom exercises such as writing assignments research papers and vocabulary building exercises and to receive email.

The IEI faculty is comprised of dedicated professionals who have advanced degrees or overseas teaching experience in English as a Second language. Recognizing that learning is a lifelong enterprise the faculty attend monthly workshops at IEI on the newest teaching methods and theories. Moreover many of IEI's teachers have made presentations at state and national conferences on teaching English to speakers of other languages.  In fact IEI is often the site of conferences attended by teachers from all over Central California.
Above all IEI's faculty works hard to make their classes informative practical and enjoyable.
